Hunt Information and Logistics
Hunting Season:
1st May to 31st November
Dip and Ship:
After your safari the field treated trophies are taken to Lusaka. An independent company will dip, crate and ship the trophies. Take note that a lot of paperwork has to be done and this could delay the process of exporting the trophies. We recommend that you ship the raw reated trophies either to the USA, Canada, Europe (Your home base) where it can be processed. Field treatment, transport, storage, all export and trophy documentation as well as crating are included in your dip and ship costs.
Air Charter:
Air Charter to Dendro Park we will arrange on the clients behalf - Wilderness Air Zambia fly out of Livingstone to Ngoma airstrip in the Kafue National Park. The flight in approximately one hour. They have different aircraft available to suite your requirements. Website: www.wilderness-air.com
Rife Importation:
Balla-Balla Safaris will need your full address, a copy of your passport, full rifles details including model , make, calibre, serial numbers and amount of ammo (max 60rounds per calibre) to process the importation. Please not that ammo must be locked in a separate case. We suggest a max of two rifles per client as the charter flight has certain luggage limitations. Rife importation cost USD$ 250 per person. Balla-Balla Safaris does
have rifles to hire at USD$ 250 per gun excluding ammo.

Itinerary schedule and logistics
Flight schedule:
A International Flight to JHB (O.R Tambo international airport)
A connecting flight from JHB(O.R Tambo international airport) to Livingstone international airport Zambia.
Option A – Over night in Livingstone:
If client chose's option A to overnight in Livingstone prior to the hunt, transfer to their overnight accommodation and accommodation costs at the
Zambezi Sun or Royal Livingstone VIP hotel is at the clients own account. We will need to pre-book and schedule their air charter from Livingstone international airport to Ngoma airstrip in the Kafue National Park for around 11:30 the following day. We can arrange to book the hotel accommodation for the client.
Option B - Direct to Dendro Park
If a client chose's option B to charter direct into Ngoma airstrip and not overnight in Livingstone. We will need to pre-book and
schedule their air charter from Livingstone international airport to Ngoma airstrip in the Kafue National Park for around 14:30 the same day the client arrives in Livingstone. A Short drive by Toyota Land Cruiser (open hunting vehicle) from Ngoma airstrip to Dendro Park + - 35km will settle you into camp in the late afternoon for a relaxing night around the camp fire. This is a non-hunting day.
Hunting Days – 5, 7 or 9 day hunt:
After a relaxing night in camp in true African style, the hunting days commence. First light brings the hunters to life and a quick cup of coffee/tea with some toast or cerial is in order before the rifles are checked on day 1 or prior to day 1 if there is time on the arrival day(non-hunting day). A coolbox with snacks and soft drinks in packed and the hunters set off in search of trophies. Breakfast/lunch typically known as “brunch” is served around 12:00 in the morning. After brunch a relaxing sleep or swim is generally in order as it the hottest time of the day. Around 14:30
the search for the trophies continues. Night time is typically enjoyed around the camp fire sharing stories of the day gone by and passed hunts. As with true African hospitality meat for varies species is prepared along with traditional dishers which makes for a truly unique world class dinner. Fishing safaris to Lake Itech-tech to catch Nembwe bream and fishing safaris to Lake Kariba to catch world famous Tiger fish can be arranged on request.
Departure day:
Departure from Dendro Park is planned for the early morning after breakfast. Departing Dendro Park for Ngona airstrip to meet up with the scheduled charter flight back to Livingstone airport. You can either chose to overnight in Livingstone at the Zambezi Sun or Royal Livingstone VIP hotel or transfer direct to your pre-scheduled international connecting flight back home via JHB (O.R Tambo international).

Travel Insurance:
It is your responsibility to provide your own travel insurance, and it is vital to have purchased insurance prior to your arrival in Zambia.
Medical Insurance:
It is imperative that you have adequate medical insurance that includes evacuation in the event of an emergency.
Medication:
Travelers carrying prescription medicine must carry a copy of their prescription at all times. As Zambia is a malarial zone, prophylactic medication is essential.
The African sun:
Is harsh at most times of the year. Comfortable cotton clothing is recommended for the hot summer months, and it’s advisable to dress in layers to allow for cooler night temperatures. Pack durable clothing, preferably in dull or neutral colours. Sun screen and a hat are crucial.
Travel assistance:

Terms of Business – note carefully
To book a hunt 50% deposit of the daily rate or package hunt is required via a telegraphic transfer to our nominated bank account. All bank fees
are payable at source when you make the transfer. The outstanding balance of the total daily fees or hunting package and trophy fees of animals hunted or wounded (determined by the Professional Hunter) is payable at Dendro Park before departure in Amex USD$ travellers cheques, USD$ Cash or combination. No personal or bank cheques are accepted under any circumstances.
Should a hunt be cancelled for any reason less than six months prior to the hunt date no deposit is refunded. If cancelled 6 months plus, 50% of the deposit will be refunded.
The hunt begins upon arrival agreed arrival date in Livingstone/Dendro Park. Should the client need to depart from Dendro Park early or curtail the hunt for any unforeseen reason whatsoever, the full hunting package price or full daily rate payment is still applicable.
Balla-Balla are not responsible for charter flight/international flight delay or cancellation due to any circumstances beyond our control. No cancellation liability accepted under any circumstances for any changes, delay or other. Air charter cost may be subject to change in the event of any unforeseen increase in operating or fuel cost at the time of travel.
Hunting and travel has risk, Balla-Balla Safaris takes safety measures but don’t accept liability for any unforeseen occurrences. Clients
arrange their own medical accident baggage trip cancel/medical evacuation insurance cover as required.
If a client fails to collect all the trophy’s listed in the package deal they would refunded the full trophy fee for the animal they have failed to collect. This does not include wounded animals determined by the Professional Hunter.
A Hunting Terms and Conditions will be provided which the client must sign upon booking.
